How I made the line to go along no particular axis:
If you want a shape to go diagonally instead of up and down, First pull a shape up, the pull a shape to the left using PnP. Then, connect the two shapes with a line and PnP until you have a 3d triangle. Once you have a 3d triangle, you can PnP that to make a diagonal shape. Now you have a rectangular prism going diagonally. using this, I can make my shape go any which way you want (in the end, erase the triangle and use deform to move shape down). Of course, if this shape is not attached to anything, you can just use deform.
