OK had to make it since he is so hot right now…
So here he is the Dark Knight…
Made a completly new body (torso) for this model so it appers to have body armor on…
also made a bigger cape and smaller ears than the other batman figures…
only used one texture for the belt logo (wanted to be finished)………
ok i now the logo should be black on yellow correcting this later…

Great model but it is very blocky and I can’t use a Hypernurb to fix it and I believe it is due to a Null Object being made Editable. I may be wrong but the point is I can’t use this model for what I want to do. Don’t get me wrong I am NOT saying it is a bad model because it is a very good model. I am just saying it is not a market ready model due to the blockiness.
If you happen to have the model BEFORE it came out that way, not only would it look better but more people would use it. I certainly would come back and use it and, of course, give you your credit and maybe word will get around. _

I think he’s talking about the smoothing groups, try using a diffrent format other than .3DS. I preffer .OBJ’s for uploading to 3dvia.

just what i was thinking that it is a 3DS problem
this is easy tested i have just updated the model with a revised version and if it still have the problem it is the 3DS format
if it is i will uploade a KMZ file instead

Do you only use sketchup? or do you use another DCC program?

No i only use sketchup.
i have tryed others like Lightwave and blender but i dont like the way you make a model. in them so i have only made 2 finished models with lightwave..
ok i miss some of the options found in lightwave but almost everything can be made in sketchup with some experimenting..

Would you say the same thing about 3DVIA Shape? I’d be very interested to hear your feed back.

actually i have never tryed 3dvia shape but has thought a lot about it lately..
mostly since many models like the Golden fish by Imagine3d gets a comment like nice work to make this in 3dvia shape..
it is a easy model to make in sketchup so there must be a big differents using shape..
i must admit that i am a totally sketchup fanatic and i think it is the most easy of all 3d programs to learn to use..
The help files and tutorial videos is totally great helping and learning tools..

This is probably the buffest rendition of batman I have ever seen. Its like a cross between batman and he-man. Look at those calves!

Hmm….I still see those “loose Polygons”. And I see it in that preview thing up there as well as in the program I use. It happens when you Connect the separate objects into one and accidentally include a Null. Maybe that Null issue is just a C4D thing? But I can still see the loose Polygons. Please don’t think that I’m insulting your work or your methods or anything I just can’t work with those loose Polys.

Say something!
