Excellent model smike! I especially like the cockpit details! Your presentation is excellent as well for showing all the details and the variety of configurations that you made it in. Great job!

The second model airplane that I ever built was this plane! I was about nine years old, living in San Bernardino, CA. I painted my model the most hideous color of brown that you can imagine :P

The first model airplane that I built was the F-104 Starfighter (still one of my favorites) and I was living in Puyallup, WA). I was only about 8 and smart enough not to paint it at all :D

many thanks abu for the kind words..
i just try as most as i can to make it look like the real one..
ok i have to say that i contanly sees small dots for my eyes after placing dot by dot by dot by dot.
just look how many it takes to make the dual gun shield…
and you will be suprised if you saw all the textures i have made but not used in the model.
i always start with if posible some schematics or a good sideview picture as a base texture and then i constantly search the internet for pictures of it.
from which i begin to make the main textures taking bits and pieces from the pictures and put them togheter to make a texture of a hull for exampel..
and agin then i make small dots ..dots..dots..

the end results are too good and all those dots surely do come together very well :)

Great Model smike. I have few queries to ask you. Can you please tell me on which year this bomber was made for the first time? I guess it was in action during world war2..Is it so?

The SBD was involved in combat from the first day of the Pacific War, as Dauntlesses arriving at Hawaii from USS Enterprise were caught in the Pearl Harbor attack.

The U.S. Army sent 52 A-24 Banshees in crates to the Philippine Islands in fall 1941 to equip the 27th Bombardment Group, whose personnel arrived separately. However with the attack of Pearl Harbor, these aircraft were diverted to Australia and the 27th BG fought on Bataan as infantry. While in Australia, these aircraft were reassembled for flight to the Philippines, but missing parts including solenoids, trigger motors, and gun mounts delayed shipment. Plagued with mechanical problems the A-24s were diverted to the 91st Bombardment Squadron and designated for assignment to Java instead. On 17 February 1942, only seven of the original 52 A-24s were combat ready. The A-24s had worn-out engines, no armor plating, and no self sealing fuel tanks. Referring to themselves as “Blue Rock Clay Pigeons”, the 91st attacked the enemy harbor and airbase at Bali and damaged or sunk numerous ships around Java. After the Japanese shot down two A-24s and damaged three so badly they could no longer fly, the 91st received orders to evacuate Java in early March, ending a brief but valiant effort.

sorry
i am not quite sure when it was produced but it was used in the ww2.

this version was the land or ground model not the navy version and was placed on several bases there was conqured from the japanese.

it was replaced with the TBD bomber plaine.
which had better engines, thicker arnament, a bomb bay which could store 4-6 bombs and newer instruments..

why has no one been in seen my new model the ALVIN DSV-2 MINISUB.
i am a little bit disappointed since it is in my eyes the best model i have made up to now and i have used many many many hours making it..
a shame..

The only reason I can think of that people haven’t visited your Alvin model – http://www.3dvia.com/smike/models/C0FFE6F6C8DAECFE – is that it isn’t visible in the thumbnail, so people skip over it. That is unfortunate as they are missing one of your best models!
