XQH XXX: yes that’s my foto, i’m indonesian… I don’t understand, If i use catia or solidwork file size always big
—mynameisoscario: IMA (imagine and shape) is one of the superiority from catia. allows fast surface creation from curves or network of curves and permits users to create their own primitives to start their design…

CATIA and SolidWorks (along with many others) are professional MCAD software tools that are used to make the things we use in the real world (airplanes, machinery, appliances etc.), so the files contain a lot more required information that is needed for manufacturing, multiple configurations, precision down to 8 and even more decimal places, revision control, and all the other parts of making a real product.

That’s a lot of why the file sizes are so large.

You’re welcome shodiq38. I’m sure a software developer (which I am not) would do a better job explaining the differences. :)
