Leonardo Da Vinci Helicopter

Description | Stats | Embed

It was not until the early 1480s, when Leonardo da Vinci created a design for a machine that could be described as an “aerial screw”, that any recorded advancement was made towards vertical flight. His notes suggested that he built small flying models, but there were no indications for any provision to stop the rotor from making the whole craft rotate. As scientific knowledge increased and became more accepted, men continued to pursue the idea of vertical flight. Many of these later models and machines would more closely resemble the ancient bamboo flying top with spinning wings, rather than Da Vinci’s screw.

Thank. I have worked 5 year use CatiaV5. For me shape has resemblance with Catia (pan, zoom, rotate) and i like it.

Yes Shodiq. I wondered why did you change your modeling tool from CATIA to 3DVIA as you may do much difficult surfacing easily with CATIA. When I looked at your earlier comment I thought I have seen your CATIA model somewhere but couldn’t remember, then I checked profile & came to know you have already modeled Pink Camera in CATIA (on which I commented that why did you keep the color as pink…boy vs girl blah blah). I am more interested to know what made you change your drawing tool to 3DVIA?

Really easier uses catia, But i can not use catia at home. I only can use it at my office. Besides use shape quicker for simple shape

Excellent questions and observations by both of you shodiq38 and Parth!

Shape was developed by people with a CATIA background, so I’m not surprised that you are comfortable with it Shodiq38. You’re certainly showing the rest of us some advanced techniques!
