Very cool model
Great model. Looks so real. forget about that rating, it is a 5.0 in my book. :)
So delicate, so perfect, good job there.
this is very cool. beautiful textures and form.
Thanks for your comments !
This model was created using Wings3D. Textures were made from real pictures of an orchid.
I just call them like I see them. :)
Being what it is, this is probably the best model I have ever seen as far as flowers go. I would like to see more of what ever else you have.
Never heard of Wings3D (from Wikipedia: Wings 3D is a free and open source polygon mesh subdivision modeller inspired by Nendo and Mirai from Izware, all using the winged edge data structure.
Wings 3D is available for most platforms, including Windows, Linux and Mac OS X, using the Erlang environment.
Wings 3D is ideally suited for modeling and texturing low to medium density polygon meshes. It has a wide range of very effective tools optimised for these tasks hidden behind its ‘minimalistic’ interface.).
Their website (http://www.wings3d.com/) seems to be down at the moment, so I can’t check it out yet.
Thanks for making us all aware of it shadows44!
The website seems to be down, you’re right. I guess it will be back in a few hours or days.
The interface is quite easy to use, the beginner doesn’t feel “lost”. Definitely easier than Blender ! ;-)
As it is said on wikipedia, it won’t be a good solution if you work with high poly meshes.
Most of my models were made with it !
