The body of this guitar is made up entirely of 1 3/4” round metal pipe. It looks really cool when you look at it from different angles.
Fresnal shader has gone crazy! Is this guitar heavy? Are the pipes made out of metal? Is this a… heavy metal guitar?
If it was made from aluminum it would be very light ( lighter then a guitar made from wood). I think the average solid body guitar is around 7 to 8lbs, this one (if it was made) would be about halve of that. here’s a picture of a all aluminum guitar.

so is a light metal guitar? :)
5 Stars for the design concept and modeling in a believable way! There would be a lot welding and grinding, but it sure would be unique.
You might want to search online for a plating service and check out the great colors that they can anodize aluminum – could give you an even wilder look!!
Wonderful model Shannon! The strings seems a bit thick to me, but whatever.
I think that everyone who owns a guitar should play a song, because Les Paul died yesterday :( Rest in peace Paul.
your right mynameisoscarjo, the strings are all the same size and they are square. This is a older model of mine ( Before I knew how to use the follow me option on sketchup). I could (and probably should) fix it, but I think it looks ok as is. This was one of my favorite models and I just wanted 3dvia members to see it :D
Yeah, it was hard for me to hear about the passing of Les Paul. All you have to do is look at the picture in the box next to this comment to know how I felt about him…
Congratulations Shannon! Your model has been included in the 41st weekly Top 10 models blog with pictures and links to your model.

WOW!! amazing model Shannon.
Thanks Parth :D
Hi Shannon, I take from your comments, that this is not a real guitar. You invented it, right? Very cool concept and well modeled. :)
