Isn’t an accoustic guitar (I hope this is the right word for a “non-E-Guitar”) supposed to have a “hole” in the body under the strings? I am just asking, becasue I thought it must have one for sound.

@Alfred – I think the sound holes are the more intricate curved shapes that look like those found on violins, violas, cellos etc.

Thanks sandman for those excellent links! Now at least I know to call the more intricate sound holes “f-holes” and I certainly know a lot more about guitar-making in the Boston area.

Is it true that there is no holes in electric guitars? Just acoustic I thought.
