How in the world do you play this thing?
Is this Pat Metheny’s Picasso guitar?? Amazing work! @tomy A lot of the strings are drones so they sound when the soundboard vibrates.
@mgbaron, yeah, this is my version of that guitar. I didn’t know it was Pat Metheny’s guitar!..It’s rear to see a harp and drone string guitar combined. That’s why I knew I had to model one:) John Mclaughlin played guitars similar to this one as well. I just seen John with Chick Corea in concert :D
I’ve seen Chick before. He is quite the entertainer! At the show I went to he had the audience doing a sing a long :). Also, I got to go backstage after the show! I would love to see John Mclaughlin someday. Off topic, but since I know that you are into Jazz now, have you listened to any Kurt Rosenwinkel? He is my favorite guitarist, bar none.
great stuff!, I just had to google him and, check out some youtube videos. Really good stuff. I’ve never heard of him! I got to show this to a friend of mine who’s been a jazz guitarist for about forty years now, he’ll definitely love this! Anyway, I’m Also a really big jazz fusion fan. A Really great jazz fusion guitarist was Shawn Lane (R.I.P.). Check out this video of him demonstrating some diminished scale exercises

Holy crap! Not really my kind of sound but I do admire his technique.
BTW – For those curious what this guitar sounds like… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XYkcNmdQu0
Actually, now that I look closely I think Pat’s is a little different.
This is my favorite of Pat’s guitars though:

Boy, was I confused – I clicked on sandman14’s link and then mgbaron’s right after that since my connection is slow. The video and audio made no sense at all – turns out I was watching one video and hearing the other – LOL!
@mgbaron It’s is different, it doesn’t have the extra headstock at the top of the body. Again, I didn’t mean it to look like that guitar. Also, mine is a more jumbo style the Pat’s.
@Don, why are you telling use this?… I’m just kidding, I love seeing that red truck fender in my model comments:D Anyway, I got something for you coming up soon (model wise)!
Also, I want to add, one of my favorite albums is Friday night in San Francisco with Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin and Paco De Lucia Live:)
Please get it!
@mgboran again, Check out this video with Shawn Lane, he was incredible on the keyboard as well!

Good work sandman!
@sandman – Thanks for the intro to Shawn Lane – that’s a nice way to start a Sunday morning – some sweet music as the birds sing outside too!
Thanks Don!, I said it before and I’ll say it again… I love seeing that red truck fender in my model comments:D
@sandman Friday Night in San Francisco is a FANTASTIC album. It is one of my favorites as well.
Great mgbaron!…Now I have to show this :D

I just noticed that youtube video was sent in by Gary Oldman!
@sandman14 & mgbaron – Here it is another Sunday morning and another perfect tune to listen to! It’s raining today and somehow the incredible spirit and warmth of that choice makes it all right! Thanks!
