Great job! The textures make a big difference.

these deformations are quite bad:they are forbidden on many surfaces, and hard to direction, even if you change the purple point,is directioned the same, wich is bad,if you want to do something like a black hawk front.
but,hey,stop the complainig,the mirrorflip,revolving and deformation,and other additional stuff,are gorgeous!

I don’t have enough experience with Shape 3.0 yet to offer proven advice, but my first attempt would be to break the problem areas into smaller surfaces and applying the texture and resizing/repositioing just for that portion. I know, that’s a PIA, but it might help a little. Complaining can be helpful, so don’t stop!

What happened to the Manipulator toll and what is the orange square in the middle of the White? I saw the new tools so I took the tutorial and it didn’t mention Manipulator or the orange square in the middle of the white.

The Manipulator tool has been combined with new functions and is now part of the Deform tool – same position on the toolbar.

Video Tip #17 ( http://www.3dvia.com/blog/2009/04/15/3dvia-shape-30-tips-and-tricks/ ) will explain the meaning of the blue, green and orange types of deforming.

I hope this helps.

the orange rectangle wich you talk about is offset?if yes,is a tool that helps making forms with the same center, and is preety useful sometimes.i’d say is creating concentrical forms, but there is no concentrical triangle or rectangle :)

You’re right sady2 – the Offset tool (the 4th one down from the top on the right toolbar) allows you to equally offset edges of rectangles in one step rather than many.

Tip #17 shows the modes of use for the Deform tool (the 3rd up from the bottom on the right toolbar). Blue is Move, Green is Modify and Orange is Freeform Deform mode which allows deformation of points or edges.

You can create Sketch points or lines as shown in Tip #3 and Tip #19 to use for deforming triangle edges too.
