This is the 82th aircraft carrier of the US Navy. Its the first one that isnt located on water but in the air!(therefore its codename CVNA (Carrier Vessel Nuclear Aerial)).This way the Army gets huge tactical advantages, because it can be deployed on the whole earth within hours. It uses 6 huge jet engines to hover in air, and 2 smaller ones to move. The engines are powered by a nuclear engine. Its by far the biggest flying object built by mankind. It features an advanced defensive system otherwise it would be shut down easily. Its also capable to refuel choppers while flying. On board are the navys most modern jets: F35 aircrafts and some UAVs that will dominate the air in the future.

I’ve always thought we have the capability to make one of these, but unfortunately the loss of even one of these ships is too much to risk. Naval aircraft carriers are protected by an entire fleet of ships, could you imaging the aerial and ground pressence it would take to protect this capital ship?

I love em though, especially the land ships, seen in the Heavy Gear universe.

well,i don’t think is needing so many ships with it,some cannons(maybe 100)would offer a good protection

All it would take would be a hidden pair of SAM Launchers empting their payload right underneath the ship as it flies by. Dependng on the altitude you would have 10-20 seconds to shoot down all those missles, not alot of reaction time. You couldn’t possibly fit enough guns, and if they are automated, you can’t leave them on all the time for fear of them destroying your own jets or civilians.
I“m thinking 5-6 advance ground radar ships, couple of AWAKs flying perimeter radar, and a few medium sized airships, possibly with a contingent of attack helicopters and some bombers for that all inclusive carpet bombing.
And of course some fast deployment ground forces, troops and tanks.

well,i think the original modeler didn’t respected too much the laws of fizics, tough he sad he won the contest for.
if a man falls, you can’t scream ‘man over the board’,and the 6 engines, each twice as big then any existent jet engine(747) makes a fuel consumpton too big for our petrol crisis.
and the atmospheric conditions can be worst,i do not want to talk about the hundreds problems that would be….
but,you must admit it,is a good model

Oh I agree, I love land, sky and space ships, and knowing fully well that military technology is 25 years ahead of comercial technology, I think building it is not a problem, its just that the military doesn’t like losing equiptment :)
