Description | Stats | Embed

This is a test matrix of 256 material definitions that systematically display all possible combinations of
Ambient {R,G,B}, Diffuse (R,G,B) and Specular {R, G, B} for the values {0,0 and 1.0}

When you look at this in the 3DVIA Player, you see all of these color dimensions interacting with the lighting model.

The Ambient colors show up as Vertical stripes {White, Cyan, Magenta, Blue, Yellow, Green, Black}
The Diffuse colors show up as Horizontal bands (4 rows x 2 columns)
And the Specular color settings show up as the 4 horizontal bars (each with 4 rows of 16 color squares)
[This matrix doesn’t have enough space to show a 8 combinations of specular coloring, so I am only working with 4 {White, Red, Cyan=Green+Blue, and Black}

Once you understand the structure of this color test matrix, and interesting thing to do is to look at this object in 3DVIA Player, Shape, MSVE, and then compare the visual differences relative to the color dimensions.

5 Stars for providing information and an illustrative example in a way that is meanigful and also gives us a glimpse of the depth of the technical challenges behind the things that we take for granted on the modeling side. Thanks!
