Like nileshcool4u, I am unable to download this file -- keep getting a "download stopped" message. Anyone have an answer or suggestion?

I was able to download both the 3DXML and obj file without a problem. I don't have 3D Max, so I can't verify that the results are good, but I had no problem with the download.

I would suggest scrolling to the bottom of the page and put in a "Bug Report". Doing that easily records your problem and some pertinent computer data so that support can look into it.

Thanx, Don. Will try that. I have just spent hours downloading .obj and 3ds from other sites, and have had no problem (with the exception of those annoying "dead" links). Maybe a "bug report" will solve the problem.

This obj model imports into 3ds max just fine for me. Make sure you select obj as the import method. Or maybe you need to update your max. I use max 9.0 2008 version.

Last night, after posting a "bug report," I tried a different tactic, which worked. I closed Firefox 3 as my browser (where I was using "Free Download Manager"), and opened MSN Explorer (not IE Explorer), which automatically uses MSN Explorer Download Manager. I got not only Man1, but each and every other download I attempted. All other downloads (.obj and .3DS) unzipped just fine, and import into Bryce 5.5 as they should. Attempts at importing Man1.obj keep ending with a message that it didn't work due to "bad in/out information." Since Free Download Manager has always worked on every other download on all other sites, I'm assuming Firefox 3 is the problem in 3DVIA. However, although I've been able to download Man1, I'm still unable to use it due to the "bad info" problem when attempting to import into Bryce 5.5. Since I got all the other downloads, I'm giving up on Man1 and will just have to be happy with what I have, accepting Abe Lincoln's "... all the people, all the time" philosophy. Thanx to "ds" and "my" for your assistance. "Niles," has any of the above been helpful? Are you using Firefox?

One more comment. Just got through logging onto IE as a web browser. Used FreeDownloadManager instead of MSN Explorer Download Manager. Got the same results as I did using Firefox 3 -- no downloads. So, my previous assumption that Firefox 3 is the problem was wrong. Even though FreeDownloadManager has never given me problems previously, it appears that FDM is the problem on this site. Could be there are some settings that need to be tweaked to work on this site, but since MSN Download Manager works, I'm not going to take the time to find out. That leads to another question for "Niles" -- are you using FreeDownloadManager? That seems to be more pertinent than whether or not you're using Firefox 3. All of this, and I just realized not only do I not know what download program you're using, I don't even know what computer (PC or Mac) you're using, let alone what your browser is.

O.K. I have no problem using Firefox in fact Firefox works even better for me with 3dvia and the internet in general than IE especially for downloads.

Hi BerdacheBear,

There is a bug that we are currently investigating that might be the cause of your issue. If this happens again, can you try logging out and then logging back in again to see if it fixes the problem?

Thanks,

Matt

BerdacheBear - I'm glad that more knowledgeable people than I have stepped in to help you! It does get complicated quickly. mgbaron usually knows what he's talking about :)

mgbaron - thanx for the attempt to help. I logged in and downloaded the file through MSN and its file download manager. The file downloaded. However, when I tried to import the file into Bryce 5.5, I got an "invalid, i/o info bad" message instead of the file loading into Bryce. I then logged into 3DVIA through FireFox 3, and using FreeDownloadManager tried to download again. FreeDownloadManager stopped (I'm assuming because it picked up on the "bad information" where MSN download manager did not). Since I didn't have any problem downloading any of the other files I've attempted to download, I am wondering whether the problem lies with this file and not with your "glitch." Thanx, again, for the effort to help.
