This is the 1:35 scale model of the German ARV “Büffel” (english: buffalo).
The tank was introduced with the Leo-2 MBT becasue the existing ARVs were not powerful enough to handle the new Leo-2 tanks.
Excellent Alfred! I especially like all the detail that you put into the crane and all the equipment that the crew would need to to get their work done.
Thanks Don :) I must admit, I really got into those details. It was even more fun than modelling the basic tank, because I can use those addons in other models too.
To be honest I find it more interesting to build an ARV than a regular tank because of all that details.
You’re welcome Alfred. I agree about the details – they make a model so much more believable.
When I was doing my automotive sculptures I found that the body itself could be quite simplified, as long as the wheels and tires were reasonably detailed. Then the whole thing worked together beautifully.
