Description

Here is my contribution to the “made in 3D” challenge. I wanted to do something pleasant, simple, innovative.
I have worked for the fashion consumer goods industry, transforming sketches into producible 3D models with CATIA. There I saw 3D printers to create prototypes in minutes.
I found pictures of beautiful 3D designs on the web done with mathematics. The innovative part of my work is that it was done in CATIA GSD interactively (no programming) and fully associative: you can imagine whatever shape, then drape it on this hypnotic closed curve named a Clifford Torus (kind of Möbius).
Enjoy!

Congratulations! Your model is included as one of today’s "Featured Content: Staff Picks" on the home page – http://www.3dvia.com/

Fascinating to zoom in and enjoy the mathematical beauty of the geometry.
