Of your three (so far), I like this one the best Parth. It just looks more real and deadly than the barrels. Very nice job!
oh!! Thanks for the opinion. I was just testing with various textures. Now I know which one is the best :D
Amazing…!!
Really good job, especially with well chosen textures, which is the key to the contest.
Thanks tomy & cabra. Lets hope they select this one for game :D
looks great… but it looks like you took the texture from the half life 2 barrel, why not use 3dvia printscreen and capture the barrel directly from the game.
Yes I can actually take a printscreen but I am not sure whether this CTA thing permits printscreen models or not that’s why I had to make it separately.
thats my point… what diference does it make using printscreen or 3dvia, its still copying someone else’s work. At the very least you could just say you took it from half-life 2, rather than give yourself full credit in the model description.
Parth-He means the textures not the model I think.
OK. Looks like ilovegoodcheese is angry on me for not giving any credit to anyone. But can you check the description again & tell me whether you find my name as the texture rights owner / neither did I claim that I made it myself. I only claim to make this model.
This texture is available free in google website. That is where I found it. It is not copied from HL2. To be more clear I don’t know whether this texture is from HL2 or not.
3DVIA Shape is known for the use of textures. We use various textures in our models from google website & if you make a habit to FIND & GIVE CREDIT to all the people who has created (& uploaded to google) those textures to google then working will become very difficult. Do you think if I use 20 textures then it is possible to first find & then give credit to 20 people for those textures???
I have a habit to give credit to people whose models I use in my remixes but if that is not the case then I can’t find & give credit to people whose texture has been used in the model. I am sorry. I remember Abu-roadking give credit to websites where he finds the texture but thats only because he finds them in a particular website who owns rights for all images. In my case it is just random search in google with no hints who uploaded them. If you ask me to give credit to only HL2 & if tomorrow it is found that another XX person / company holds the right of this texture then will some one take the responsibility for misleading me here???
Understand giving credit is good but if it is to the wrong person (specially when you don’t know who provided it) then it will backfire.
I am very much offended when you mentioned “what difference does it make using printscreen or 3dvia, its still copying someone else’s work.” How can this be mentioned?? You find a car in game & take printscreen (in 10 seccond) or you make the car in 3dvia or other software (in 14 days). Are they both same??? People (many users in 3dvia) here make car models in different softwares which are already created by car companies. Are they all just copying someone else’s work?? Is that what your point of view??
Too much talk. Let’s just get a bunch and blow them up!!
Yups that’s the idea…..lets blow up some bad guys..lol :D
i suggest you to use a different texture made by yourself to make a model as impressive as this one and shut ilovegoodcheese’s mouth, or else he/she is going to be right, you should have mentioned the texture it’s not yours (by the way that was obvious, not only because half life was played by millions of people but it was the very image chosen to illustrate the CTA contest, doh!!)
