It is very funny to watch those balls. I must admit that this model totally messed up my 3D viewing and imagination skills :) Somehow always the "wrong" ball is first :) Great!

@smike - thanks, although it is more of an experiment than something I planned :D @alfredix - it is funny - in a disturbing kind of way - all the spheres are spheres, but they don't always show up as spheres and they have an amazing ability to be where you least expect them! They're nice and shiny using the Fresnel shader, but then all transparency is lost.

@sady - All the textures are in the right column. If you click on "view all" it should take you to a page where you can download them. I created them all in Photoshop at 50% opacity, but I don't know whether that feature will come with them when you download them (I should try - duh!). I hope this helps.

OK, I did try it ( http://www.3dvia.com/dswavely/models/335857293B0D1F31 ) and the downloaded png textures do keep their transparency. Yay!

I like the way this looks in the Fresnel shader (and the spatial ambiguity is removed!)

Thanks rhalstead. The fresnel shader does do a nice job on this model. What I would really like is transparency AND specularity.

In wireframe mode it reminds me of the early days of CAD when we spent more time trying to figure out what we were looking at than we did actually getting anything done! We've all come a long way :D
