Excellent answer abu_roadking! Each model is built to meet the requirements of the situation. Gamers are always trying to reduce polygon count so the game moves quickly. CAD people are focused on making sure that the manufacturing details are all there and that it can be easily modified as it moves through the engineering process. Models with complex surfaces are even more difficult. Class A automotive surfaces, aircraft surfacing and medical 3D models are the most demanding. The margin for error gets ever smaller. Simple elegance is the hardest of all to achieve. It takes a great breadth and depth of experience and knowledge to add only those elements that make the model/product function well and still satisfy the eyes and hands as well.

Hey, haven't seen you on 3dvia, probably cause the last time i was on was like a year ago. I've seen this on the warehouse, pretty impressive. Just watch out for this guy named SADY and SADY2, he has like 300 stolen models with no credit. Report him when you got a chance. It would do all of us a favor.
