Fabulous! You guys did a great job! I agree with your point about the difficulties in modeling such complex surfaces - that's what makes this so particularly impressive. Anyone viewing the model should click on the anti-aliasing button (the little stair steps) to make sure that they are seeing it at its smoothest. Changing to the Fresnel shader is also very worthwhile, except you lose the details in the front lights.

Oh my god!! What an awesome model. No it is not just a 3D model, it is an artistic Masterpiece. If there will be a Model of the year contest on 3DVia, this would be it. Very well done guyes. 5 stars for each of you (if I only could rate that much...)

@Alfred - Oh no! If we have a Model of the Year contest (which, of course, we have considered) I may end up being burned in effigy around the world :D :D :D 3D modeling may have to become an Olympic event soon :) Wouldn't that be fun! We should start organizing now...

sweet model guys! How do you shape the surfaces like that in Sketchup? I have seen a bezier spline plugin from Rubi(?), does that work?

We used the meshing technique; so, we cross-referenced between BPs to find points, like the corners of a windscreen. You then create more lines, to give a smooth surface, and draw tringles between them. See Rogue's tutorial for a more in-depth explanation :) And thanks, everyone, for all your kind comments :)
