I have been shying away from black or any other really dark colors because I am developing for a space-based video game. I am concerned that the black ships will not stick out enough on the black background...which may negatively impact the user's experience.

To check out some of my other designs for my video game: http://www.3dvia.com/search/models/tags/starship+pirates

You may notice I do use black in a few places. So it is not a hard-and-fast rule...just a general guidline.

Thanks for the comment...and thanks for viewing :)
