Oooops, I forgot to ask in the other discussion - would you be open to having other modelers contribute their Shape models to be included in your game? Mine will all look like trucks :), but maybe other folks will have some better things to add.

In a word: Absolutely.
But, because I like more words: By all means please provide models for inclusion. Licencing could be an issue as I am looking at possibly marketing and selling this product commerically (a guy can dream). If I do include a model that I have not created I will contact the person about possible compensation.
What I am looking for (in order of "need"):
Characters: Read the blog post about character descriptions. I have had a hard time creating them in shape and I don't know how animation works for characters (ships are pretty easy).
Planetary Base: Nuclear silo on Earth. our hero will be stealing a nuclear missle or two.
Moon-Base: A Moon with a base on it. Will need an interior as the pirate (player) will be leading an assault for supplies.
Asteroid-Base: Same as above, but it will likely be the "home" base for the pirate.
Carriers: Big things that can carry the Fighters and Fighter-Interceptors (and maybe even a destroyer or two). I am especially looking for "Pirate" models, but Imperial (blue) or "other" models are welcome as well.
Destroyers: Large things...smaller than Carriers with lots of weapons (include descriptions of any weapons you include).
Fighter/Interceptors: Essentially these are Fighters with enough room for a bunk and food stores and with nacelles.
Fighters: Thruster ships that can not go faster than light speed. Highly menuverable and small (so they are hard to hit). I already have a bunch of these, but I am not committed to any of them.
Can you tell I have big plans for this thing?

One more thing. I have been using Blue for the Imperial Starships and Black & Silver for Pirate Starships. I would like to keep that color scheme.
Fighters can be any color you want.

Now that is a complete answer! I hope that some folks (with more space sensitivity than I have) will take the challenge and provide more content for you.

A few more needs:
1) Planet Killer - A big ship with a single large weapon.
2) Orbital Space Station/Weapons Platform (no insides needed)
3) Asteroids - Just a bunch of various sizes.
4) Planets - Again, just a bunch

OK, so apparently I also need a Cargo Ship or two (or four).
Requirements:
1) The cargo containers need to be seperate from the ship itself.
2) The containers need to be connected via "tractor beam".
3) There needs to be a minimum of 10 meters between the containers.
In one of the early training missions the player will be stealing a cargo container in order to learn how to pilot a ship.

Asteroids made in Shape? Excellent - all my mistakes can just be turned into something useful, as long as I use a good texture.

Asteroids...could I just make a triangle for a ship? You could have an easter eg in the game the played a classic 80s video game?

You know, that is not a bad idea. Maybe shooting one specific asteroid (A diamond shaped one) could start the game...
Granted I should probably work on the actual game rather than easter eggs to beginw ith, but what would be the fun in that?
