Hey the new look is really good.
Though it would take a day or two to get accustomed to it , having all the link on the top of the page is very useful.

I like it a lot.
very modern look and feel. that some things are not on the same place as before does not really bother me. By the time everybody will get used to the new locations as they were with the old layout.

I was just wondering if the home page could be reached even if I already signed in - for example, is the Billions' site reachable in this state ?
But the main idea is that the design is really nice!!

Thank you. We designed the site so that the Dashboard will ultimately become the homepage for you. With a few exceptions, most of what was on the homepage should be there...or there next week. It's not 100% so we need to keep going of course.
As for Billions - it's actually in the main navigation under "BLOGS". It is part of the "3DVIA Blog Network" similar to 3DVIA TV and the Subsurface game project.

I was thinking the same thing! To get to the billions website just go to billions.3dvia.com but what he means is that you could see the same thing in the homepage, logged in or not?

I like the look of the website very much! very clean and intuitive. I was wondering where all those 252,208 items of uploads went, though. I can only finsd 22k models in the database.

I am a novice #D user. I attempted to download and install 3dvia, but got this message:

It seems like it failed to download the msi package, but it could be any number of reasons.

It didn't make any difference. I didn't think it would, since the download happens outside of Chrome. I'll try a different machine, although I don't know why it wouldn't like my Dell Optiplex Is there any way to get more detail from the error than the fact that it failed? How about manually downloading and installing the file? is there a link to where I can download it directly, or will that mess up the rest of the installation?
I should mention that although I'm a novice 3D user, my company has several seats of Solidworks, and I'm trying to get something that will let me do quick drawings that the Solidworks guys can then use as the basis for a real product.Posted 10 months ago # -

what i think about all these news?....they are horrible news...expecially the choice to stop the service of converting model in dae format FOR FREE!!!!. this was poblably on of the best feature of this forum...really sad

I agree with sandpaw2, I'm very angry that possibility to download in dae isn't free, it was my only reason to be here since I work in max and need convert 3dvia files to dae to work on them, and yet more I can't have paypal account to pay for activaton! I'm mad because all my dream projects are ruined.

I think that a lot of people won't share their 3d models on this site anymore for this reason. I have some friends which have my same opinion subscripted here. Anyway REIKO there are some other ways to convert 3dxml to anther 3d format but all those methods are not perfect and sometime they not export even the uv maps.
I remark the wrong choice to make the dae conversion not for free!!!
