    Hi everyone,

I was just wandering whether I could import some car pictures in paint to shape. If yes, then how should the car pictures be in view (front, side, diagonally forward etc)

Yes, you can upload your car pictures in any of the following formats: .jpg, .jpe, .jpeg, .tga, .bmp, .png,. .pcx, .tif, .tiff, .dlb, .gif, or .dds.

How the car should be positioned is really up to what you think looks best. Each car usually has certain angles that look better than others. Pick the ones you like the best and have some fun!

Actually GIF doesn't work with Shape, not sure about PCX or DLB either, but I know for certain GIF doesn't work...the others do.

My videos may come in handy I guess! See the one about Texturing in Shape I made http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDiavmPMdZs skip to 2:00 to see how to import textures. Notice at the bottom of the textures window I have chosen the fifth tool.

You're right Tomy. When you try to upload a custom texture, GIF, PCX and DLB do not show up! We'll have to explore that and remove them from the list if they aren't supported. Thanks!

Once again, I was wrong with my original list. The texture formats that 3DVIA Shape supports are shown in the documentation ( http://www.3dvia.com/blog/products/3dvia-shape/documentation/ ) and include .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .png, and .dds.

    Sorry for the confusion!
