How are you accessing the exporter, you should just be able to go to file export/import and select collada dae.

    Requirements

The utility has been developed using 3D Studio Max 2009, but it should work with 3D studio Max 2008.

However, some maxscript instructions are only available since 3D Studio Max 2008 and are thus not expected to work on earlier versions.

    NOT MAX9!!!

I"ve never needed to use the utility package, I only use the exporter and that works fine for Studio.

    Hi jdelrio,

Then what is the use of Utility package? When I export as you said, some objects become transparent. How to resolve it?

    Could you please help me?

The use of the utility package is to add custom attributes to the DAE export for advanced things like including links to multiple animations as far as I know. It was developed a very long time ago.

Can you show us an example of an object that is not transparent but becomes transparent when imported into Studio? It's probably an incorrect translation of the material somewhere.

I know from Maya I need to set the "Diffuse" property from the default 0.8 to 1.0 in order for my materials to come in without transparency enabled, even though "Diffuse" in Maya has nothing to do with transparency.
