I can't see any About dialog box in the product.
How can I know the versionj I'm using?

If you are using an old version, it will automatically update to 4.0. So unless you have no connection, you are using 4.0.

In Shape, you can click on the help button, (the big question mark in the bottom toolbar) and under the title of the help menu you will see the version number.
