Woah... that's new. Is there any blog post or anything on how to use the new Scenes?

Ah, got it. Most of the controls are in the upper left corner on the Dassault Systemes button, to change between avatar and free navigation, add manage and create models, and do sharing stuff. More stuff yet can be found by pressing the wrench, and further navigation controls can be found by mousing over the lower left (useful for avatar or free navigation "spectator" mode).
I spotted a few immediate problems:
1. My computer can run Awesome mode without lag
2. Anything on the ground causes z-fighting, unlike the earlier scenes.
3. The avatar move much quicker than before and always resets the camera angle when moving
4. Not really a problem but a limitation, that I cannot zoom out under a model without an auto zoom in towards the avatar.
5. Chat records anything you type, whether or not the textbox is focused.
6. Some models turn see through even without an avatar in the way.
7. Improper behavior of see through textures (blocks out everything textured, but those that are coloured show through).Posted 1 year ago # -
Hello tomy,
The new version of Scenes is currently in a "soft" release while we monitor everything and make sure there are no critical issues. Stay tuned possibly as early as this afternoon for media on the update.
To answer your immediate questions:
1. This one doesn't seem like an actual problem?
2. I don't think the camera settings were modified, so z-fighting shouldn't be increased. There will always be some z-fighting in 3D applications if two planes are directly on top of each other, can you simply offset it a tiny amount to fix the problem?
3. This is on purpose, to make avatar navigation easier and never to have weird camera angles while trying to walk. If you hold down the left mouse button and rotate while walking it will turn your avatar left-right. If you hold down the middle mouse button while walking you can rotate around your avatar and walk at the same time. Letting go will always recenter the camera behind avatar.
4. I don't understand what you mean here, can you describe the scenario further?
5. I am not experiencing this. If I open the chat, click elsewhere in the Scene, and type something it does not record in the chat window. Can you confirm this and let us know what operating system, and browser + version you are using?
6. I am not seeing this one either, do you have some specific models we can reproduce this with?
7. I am not sure I understand what you mean here either. Again, do you have a specific model to illustrate what you mean here so we can reproduce? Thanks for your feedback Tomy -- this is just the first release of the new version, but we are still working on quite a few things for it in the future.

Hello,
no chat available, since yesterday afternoon GMT, in Scenes via https://apps.facebook.com/studioplayer/. Uninstalled all players and installed the new one. Same issue.

Hello madalin,
Are you seeing the new Scenes V2 interface or the old V1? Chat was removed from the Facebook page, as chat is built into the new Scenes V2 interface right in the application. However, for previously embedded Scenes such as on Facebook they may still be loading the old version of Scenes. This will be updated in the next week time frame.

Hello iainB85,
thanks for you feedback. I am seeing the old V1 in Facebook but the new V2 in 3dvia.com (chat buuble included, ofcourse). So I will wait the next week update.

2. It wasn't there before in this Scene on the floor: http://www.3dvia.com/scenes/93D6A7899BADBF91/sabal-reflex
3. It may be on purpose, but in small spaces it can be difficult to navigate without bumping into stuff. And I like looking down while moving so I can follow a path on the ground.
4. Sometime the collision detection fails kin the scene. That being the case, before I could switch to avatar view and zoom all the way out, then do a low angle underneath the floor double click on the floor somewhere else. I can't do that now, the camera zooms in too far. I can't see under the house.
5. Firefox 12 Windows 64 bit.
6. See above scene.
7. It has to be on Awesome mode, then see this scene: http://www.3dvia.com/scenes/6B7A7F6173455769/scenes-glitch-with-transparencyPosted 1 year ago # -
Note: for number 6, go up the blue stairs and turn right towards the fridge and stove. The house turns invisible, even in first person mode. For me anyways.

FYI - Anything between the avatar and your camera becomes "ghosted - semi transparent" on purpose so that you do not get lost inside buildings and corners. This works best when there are many individual elements in a scene, specially if the roof is a separate element from the walls, ect.

Yes, but some objects turn invisible without the avatar behind them. Follow the above instructions...

In this scene in first person:

2. Looks like the z-fighting only occurs on the higher graphic settings. I am not sure exactly why, as I mention below the high settings take a lot of tweaking to get to look right in every particular Scene. We have ideas in the future to be able to customize them on a per Scene / context basis for better rendering quality.
3. I will pass this feedback on the developer and see what he thinks. I think a compromise of centered the left-right of the camera behind avatar, but leaving the height in tact could be a good compromise.
5. I still can't reproduce the chat window recording things when I have not clicked to activate it. I tried using Firefox 12.0 and am on a Windows 7 64bit machine as well. I will ask a few more people to try it out too -- is this something that his happening for you all the time or something you noticed once?
6. The house only disappears for me when I am in 3rd person and one of the walls is in-between my avatar and camera, which is expected. If I go into first person or don't have something in-between the house looks OK for me!
7. Yep I see it, this has to be something with the advanced rendering effects applied to the Viewport. Honestly, these settings can be tricky and the "Awesome" settings will only look "awesome" on a context that was prepared with them in mind. As you can see in that Scene, the ambient occlusion effect actually makes the white demo very visible and it looks bad
I think maybe we can at the very least put in some warning here when you switch that not all rendering modes are right for all Scenes.

5. Ok, I made a mistake. I should be more specific. If you click off the box, it becomes unfocused, as you say. I f I focus the box, then click on the comments box or somewhere off the player, the chat box is still focused, unlike the old browser based behavior.

Can any of you help me. I'm ne to 3dvia and I have uploaded some images and had to use KMZ format because it said my dae was to large (over 10 MG) but then I can't find a way to send the image to a scene?
I wish there was just someone I could email for answers but I can't find that either.

@therentallist Was the image attached to the kmz file and showed properly in the player? If not, I'll let you know the free limit of DAE is 25 MB. If it was, it should show in the scene once you add it to the scene. Do you know how to add models to a scene?

dswavely - http://www.3dvia.com/users/dswavelyOn your question, you uploaded an image but used a 3D file format? You can just upload a jpg right into your 3dvia account. If it is a 3D model, you can zip it up before you upload and it will help with the file size.

Don't worry jdelrio, I've helped him figure this one out via message
