i am very militaristic, so forgive the non passive suggestions. how about a submarine? they come in many different shapes and sizes, ranging from mile long nuclear detterents to small rescue craft.
I like the spacecraft idea, but more in the lines of Homeworld, A craft that transported their entire planet's population through a journey to rediscover their home planet. hmmm.....
I'm also a big fan of military vehicles, I especially get goosebumps about the A10 Thunderbolt
I'm an even bigger fan of vehicles from Warhammer 40,000.

Yes but animals are such a common topic, so we have to choose something there is not too many of (like 4-5).
