some results of testing 3DVIA Printscreen 2.2
tested with Collin MC Rae Dirt
you must hit F10 directly on start of the race, 2 sec later it crashes.
you get, all diffuse textures (60 HQ tilebale Textures) of the scene, naturally no bump maps or spec maps because one material is captured only with one texture,
98% of geometry is not usable but you can see how Codemasters build up an environment, especially how they manage sky rendering
tested with some Virtools Scenes in LifePlayer
you get only geometry with material and texture that is not clipped or what is in your viewing frustrum,
when you switch the player to Software Rendering, clipping is not done, you get the complete scene, all geometries with material and one texture
what says the Copyright to that?

that means for the Future we get games with more 3D Objects, probably you will find some Crysis Charakters as Spectators on a Race Track from
Collin MCRae 6 .-), at the moment it is a big ressource for high optimized textures
