The original TRX instument panel. It was attempted to be as precise as possible with drafts etc. Created as a solidworks tutorial for DrSlumper’s magnificent TRX project http://thetrxproject.blogspot.com/ . Decals are now represented with surfaces in trasparent backround that exposes the inside, interesting how this effect resembles the acrylic covers (especially in glossy shader) which are still not visible, as they would not be represented properly.

Excellent model! Everyone should check out the back side to see the level of detail that is included.

I only kept one star back for the exact things that you mentioned – even though it is our own fault for not supporting SolidWorks textures.

DrSlumper should be quite happy.

glad you liked it dswavely, there have been quite some hours spent on it… i think the 3Dvia publisher, as a solidworks integrated communication tool, should fully support all solidworks materials-decals with specific gloss/bump/map/transparency properties for each one of them. Hope it is like that soon! I will in the meanwhile continue to evaluate solidworks as a design tool. Keep up the good work.

Yowsers! That’s gorgeous! (Anyone viewing it should be sure to click on anti-aliasing to get the full effect.)

Blog link doesn’t work for me – takes me to a “Blogger Status” page.

Why is this bike so rare?

Good point on the anti-aliasing billy, just corrected the blog link as well. The Yamaha TRX 850 model was not a commercial success so few of them exist, yet it has passionate fans and has even earned triad positions in the “Battle of the Twins” championship, among Ducatis, The Britten and other monsters.
