Click and drag the mouse upwards to throw the ball. The further the mouse is moved up the harder you will throw it. Move the mouse left or right to add a spin to the ball and go for the 100’s!

Get three balls in a row worth over 10 points and activate fire ball!

Recommended play is in full screen — click the upper right button to switch.

damn! guys you’re too good :( can’t beat 300 after N tries.

@iainB85 : i’ve found that if you don’t throw the ball with enough force, it won’t climb the slope at all and it will come back to you instead. After that you will be unable to throw any other ball: the game is stuck until you restart the web player… I guess there’s somehting to fix in the project source :’(

ah bug! if you are too weak to throw the ball and it rolls all the way back and hits the floor … you’re stuck!

Maybe you guys should take a trip to the gym and buff up so you can get the ball down the lane!

I will look into a way of destroying the ball if it doesn’t make it over the ramp for my next publish :)

Nice Iain, your experience brings a lot of fun :), and I didn’t know that game before, so beyond the fun, I learnt something :D

I’m curious, what did you use to create your 3D models ?

Nice job Iain! I got the 100 a few times. Great example of the physics engine in 3DVIA Studio.

Cool mini game!
I found a bug if we launch the ball too slowly, it goes back and fall. The game is then stuck, even pressing the reset button doesn’t work ;)

Here is my impression and what I would prefere ;)
I’m sure it is possible to improve the accuracy on the power jauge.

For example we could fill the power jauge as long as the mouse button is pressed.
So to launch the ball: I let the mouse button pressed and when I think the power is good, I quickly drag the mouse and release the button to give the direction.

Another example: the speed of the dragging move can fill the power instead of the length of the dragging, the feedback can be better because the behavior is more “natural” (power = speed). With the current control, you can slowly drag the mouse and still have a powerful launch which is not what you would expect. I guess for the rythm of the game it can be good too :)

A last example: let the control as it is but showing in real time the power jauge.

So, video quality sucks, but if you watch it a few times, you’ll get the technique… may vary slightly depending on your system resources… lag and what not… and the EatCam (vid capture software I’m using) compiled the video at 2x speed it seems, but audio is straight on… gets cut off at the end.. anyway, cursor just a bit away from the right edge at the very bottom edge of the skee ball table, click and hold, move the cursor up to the end of the table, right at the ramp, then go diagonally up and left and come to stop between the 2 and 0 on the 20 marker and let go of the left mouse button. You’ll knock down the 100’s like clockwork.

Nice job! I suppose I could add some random factor to it, so it’s not exactly the same each time — but that might be frustrating for the user too… hmmm, maybe need to factor it by how fast they dragged up, so it has be a fast fluid motion instead of a calculated drag :)

Here’s a weird error-I press reset when I get Fire Power and I can never use the fire ball again! Weird effect that I am assuming has something to do with variables :)

@Syl20Bnr One good way to do it would to be to have an invisible “mouse” object which is a rectangular prism that follows the mouse, then have the ball attached to the rectangle, which is visible. Then the ball would follow the mouse before the user throws. When the user lets go of the mouse, the ball simply uses the physics force created by the rectangular prism as it’s guide, so that it is more exact.

As for the rectangular prism, it would only be able to go to the end of the table where the bump is, otherwise the user could be precise as to where they want the ball to go.

Or do the same thing with the ball invisible, then have the ball start over from the beginning with the force created by the rectangular prism (I do problem solving pretty often just so you know, I know Javascript)

As for the fire ball error, isn’t it possible to restart the player using only the player’s options? When I right click on the logo at the bottom it says Restart, so I’m assuming you can call this function in game without right clicking on it?
