would love to see the rest of the catalog :) can you mail it…. plzzz :)
i was infact looking for a good box (like the scaled car model boxes) to pack them together & gift it to you…
didn’t find any good box… will do it later :)
so that’s the actual catalog…
they look cool
@Abu – Thanks! I only had 5,000 copies of the catalog printed – 30 years ago – so there aren’t many left :(. I’ll create a model with all the catalog pages in it and see how it looks.
@sady – The model only shows the top half of the catalog page. The rest is words. As I told Abu above, I’ll try to create a model with each page in full. I’m glad you like it – it actually won a n award in Boston when it first was published. (And, no Gutenberg did not print it, although it was printed in duotone on a beautiful Heidelberg press.)
very cool….
those vehicles look so cool. I am very much in favour of those short wheelbase, sort of bulky cars.
Long time ago, Tamiya had similar toys. The most favorite one was the Wild Willy.
A Willys Jeep with huge wheels and also sort of shortened wheelbase. It was remote controlled. Very cute :) I am looking forward to seeing the full catalog Don.
Thank you both shodiq38 and Alfred! I’ve always loved short and chunky proportions. I did a project at Art Center College of Design, which indirectly led me to designing toys for Hasbro. Years later, when I started making my own “toys” I naturally stayed with what I liked.
The full catalog (2D graphics only) will hopefully be uploaded tomorrow. Then you’ll see that I have a lot of Shape modeling ahead to do them all. :D
Great Don.
FYI: I checked “subscribe to comments by e-mail”, but there was no e-mail that you posted another comment on this model. I just looked by coincident. Is that “tracking” not working correctly?
Alfred, my guess would be that the email notifications only go out when the site automatically refreshes itself. Depending on when you upload a model or make a comment, there will be a longer or shorter delay before it actually shows up on the site.
I have made comments on models and come back later to find that someone else had also made a comment – before I did! Hopefully, this is all it is.
Oh, and did you remeber that time (I forget which model) that you replied to a comment that wasn’t on the list yet, and it showed up later on the list? Weird.
Yes, tomy, that can happen too. I found out later that if you edit one of your existing comments it automatically goes to the end of the list, which can makes things very confusing at times. Now If I find a mistake in an older comment, I just leave it so that it doesn’t cause even more problems. :)
