Muscle Car Maniac made this model and I found it in the Google Warehouse ( http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=5bc5ede8e0b92882a2d46d23ccf76d9a&prevstart=36 ) and did a few mods to sorta’ make it better. The original starting model was modeled by LandMHobbes. (I don’t like the white wall rear slicks, but that’s the way they were imported – I’ll have to play with that.)

I like the white walls… What did you change?

Good! When I take them off I’ll send them to you!

There were some bizarre tubes and bits obscuring the engine that I dumped and I moved one of the mufflers so it didn’t stick through the body so much. But the engine is in a really wonky position and a bunch of other stuff needs rework too. Time to get out the tools and jack stands.

Wonky – as in “something just doesn’t look straight”

The engine is not aligned in the frame correctly and a few things that should line up with each other don’t. I know, picky, picky, picky.

Lots of things with only 2 or 4 wheels get my motor revved up too. Big rigs just do it the best!

You hit the nail on the head. Ever since I was a little kid I wanted to be a cross-country truck driver. I still check out the driver schools and I have more truck books than anything else. My dream is to make my own 60’s big rig rat rod, no trailer, just the cab.

(Oh well, it’s good to have an active fantasy life!)
