Nice! The front end almost looks like a human face. This truck could have been in the movie “Cars”

How do you get in?

You crawl in through the virtual doors. They’re very well hidden!

Thanks Mr. mvcomputers (notice the respectful title). Even though mgbaron pointed out that you can’t get in it (and later added that the gas fill location would lead to a lot of driver discomfort) I’m glad that you like it. I want one too, but I’ll have to use some alchemy to turn your wheelbarrows o’gold into real scratch. I don’t know if the hood is deep enough for a good ole’GM 6-71 blower and belts hanging out and all. Maybe I could just say that it’s buried in between the cylinder banks already – you just can’t see it! :)

All right, enough respect, back to smack down. I’m really into clean lines on rods, although I understand your love of blowers. I grew up on Car Craft magazine and if it didn’t have a blower (or 3 or even 4!) it wasn’t a real dragster. I guess time at Art Center and seeing some really great rods over the years has given me an appreciation for how hard “simple” is to do.

No way was I mad! I love the back and forth. I was actually thinking of trying the blower(s) just for fun. Guinness record for most comments – here we come!

You’re welcome. It’s always great to see new 3D models and new community members.

Thanks for your compliment. This model was done using SolidWorks, which is a professional CAD program. I’ve been using it for about 12 years and you can do incredibly complex models. Like anything that is detailed, it all takes time and patience. That’s why I do trucks in my spare time – because I like them so much!

i see you got bored of that cad, since you no more do models there
but shape is a lot more fun,and the library is a very interesting feature

I still love SolidWorks and use it whenever I can, but my role here at 3DVIA keeps me so busy that I do less and less 3d modeling myself. It’s a bit like a plumber who always has a leaky toilet at home :(

Also I really do enjoy the freedom of using Shape!! It allows me to have more fun and combine models in ways that would take much longer using more complex modeling tools.

Best of all, is that now much of my time is spent checking out and enjoying how other modelers use 3D and encouraging as much creativity, imagination and sharing as I can!
