All credit goes to alfredix for his great models! I am simply amazed that I was able to load up both his Corsair and a full load of weapons, re-scale and re-position them all in one 3DVIA Shape model!!

wow!! looks good. perfect positioning Don.
there are 7 more weapon systems for the Corsair (you’ll find a note in the comment of each model :) )
I am glad you started arming the Corsair. I am already at the next project :)
and of course you get 5 Stars for that one (hehe)

Thanks for all of your great modeling! If I didn’t have a meeting to go to (oh bane of creativity and all progress in life!!!), I’d be working on an attack squadron and a “wheels-up” version for some aerial dogfighting…

would be great to have a good dogfight with some other planes on 3DVia. The Corsair is not specially designed as a fighter. It’s more a ground attack / bombe, but who cares, its our world, right?
I am curios: If you say wheel-up version. Can you modfiy the model in Shape so that all hatches are closed, no wheels etc, or do you need to load the STEP into a CAD system to do so

@sady – yes – under 2 MB!! That’s great for getting more CAD models into 3DVIA and 3DVIA Shape models. 3DVIA Shape 3.0 launches TODAY!

@alfredix – You’re right, we have to work with what we have, real or not. Virtual reality can be so much more fun. You’re also right about the “wheels up” version having to be taken into SolidWorks and modified there and re-exported. My SolidWorks laptop is in the “shop” right now, so I can’t do that right away – gives me something to look forward to.

Hot diggety dog! (that’s a bizarre old American saying that implies great excitement about what is on the way – can’t wait to see what you do with it.) Keep an eye on the web site over the next few days, because there will be tutorial videos and other good stuff to help explain the new features!

I have just seen the introduction video of Shape 3.0. Wow, what a blast in features. Compared to the 2.0 it looks like quantum leap, what you put in. Great stuff.

@alfredix – Glad you like it! The 3DVIA Shape team in France (with a little help from over here) did a fantastic job!! I’m wicked excited (Boston talk) to see what everyone does with all the new features!!
