Also learned something new: “Ekranoplan is a Russian word it means ‘screen craft’ or ‘skimmer’. It is not a plane nor is it a ship, moreover its a mixture of both. The craft moves along on a dynamic cushion of air that is generated by its forward movement. It has similar characteristics of the common hovercraft in that it flies just above the surface as it moves. It will not however, hover while stationary but sit in the water.”
Looks like fun!

This design is a first sketch towards a real craft to be built in the next year or two. It will use a paramotor engine. Wingspan is 5 meters. Materials will be wall insulation (extruded polystyrene) and wood. So far I have designed and built a hovercraft, see it in action on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IczJzM7W010

You look like you’re having way too much fun in that video! Great job!
I hope your ekranoplan is just as successful. Keep us up to date and thanks again for bringing another type of vehicle into the mix.
