So many good models this week, but my favorite was perecat1's. So surreal and beautiful, the quality of art that this community is capable of continues to amaze me.

Congrats to all the featured modelers!

HI sady,

Yes, I intentionally included the screen shot of the preview - "I included the screen shot of the thumbnail (pressing the “PLAY 3D” button does not work here), so that you could see the wonderful textures that our Player isn’t showing." It was the only way I could think of to make sure that everyone could see the excellent textures.

Frane?

By "bot code" do you mean the security code?

If so, it was changed because it was not working for a lot of people (including me) and we heard from numerous readers that it was pissing them off (me too!). You could put in the obviously correct code and it would still give you an error AND erase your comment. Very frustrating.

We want people to easily be able to make comments, so we changed it.

The new one allows you to change the code yourself (top blue button), change to an audio clue (second blue button) or get more information (third blue button).

Let us know if you have problems with it.

Yes, anyone can subscribe to the RSS feed and then make their own choice as to the reader they use. I use the Google reader, which updates every hour. I don't know about how other readers handle the time/date issue.

It is great that you are picking areas which 3DVIA users have not yet explored! I'm looking forward to seeing the models!

hmm!! Thats a long description & thanks for mentioning all the details. For my group we just use a specific tag with month name to identify models created based on every month. Actually we are planning to create models based on several themes (which is not explored by modelers in 3dvia) & the time limit should be a fortnight (2 weeks) & need to finish that within given time frame. So its important for me to know who has finished it within time & who has not (so that we can help him to speed up the process). I am not sure about RSS feeder. Can I use it too?

Hi Parth,

Thanks for all of your congrats and comments for the other winners! Congrats to you too!

Since I spend a lot of time on the site each day, I naturally keep a fairly good idea of what has been uploaded, but the key is to subscribe to the Recent Activity RSS feed.

Every morning (just like now), the first thing I do is go to the RSS feed and read all the comments since I last logged in. Some I reply to, but I try not to hog the the front page :). Then I go to Search>most recent , expand the page to 100 models and review all the models that were uploaded since I last logged in.

I use the time and date stamp from my RSS feeder to determine which is the first and which is the last model uploaded in each week. I keep a history in a separate file, since models do get deleted too. Some models, like the Bugatti Veyron, may be in consideration for more than one week as the collaboration team makes significant improvements over time.

That, in combination with being on the site a lot, is how I do.

Does this help?

Again a new week a new beginning with some cool models. Many congrats to all modelers. I noticed that TASARIMCI has got 3 top-10 models this week. I am really jealous now :) but he surely deserves that & all 3 models look good, specially the texture he used for cup (its so attractive).

perecat's model is a emotional one & toymaker as always hits the jackpot (cool model & realistic water texture).

I am also looking forward to see the completion of Alfred's lift facility. I am sure this model is getting huge now with more surprises to be added in this.

Finally many thanks for including my "Ring Where Champions Are Born" as while creating I was not sure whether people may like this or not but It got pretty attention & lots of comments. So I believe we should only think of modeling rest depends on the great 3dvia community we have here :)

One last question for you Don - How do you search the models created in a particular week (please tell me this secret) as I dont think there is any tag to know the details of creation week / day (people used to update model after upload so noway can be found the actual creation day)

You're welcome Alfred. I'm looking forward to seeing each section as it does grow. I'm hoping that folks read your descriptions with each model and get hooked like I am to see how the whole thing turns out!

Congratulations to the modellers. There are great models in the Top 10 this week. I especially like the plane from TASARIMCI. It uses the Catia built in Carmoflage textue very nice.

Great! Thanks a lot Don. Very cool that lift facility made it as HM in the Top10. There is soon more to come from the whole Logistic center. I have finished certain areas of that already. Piece by piece it comes together :)
