Create Your Own Custom Avatar on 3DVIA

** UPDATE ** You can now purchase and download your avatar right within your “My Avatars” inventory page for $39 and import them into 3DVIA Studio.

We recently announced a new partnership with Darwin Dimension for web-based custom avatar generation. Today, I’m excited to highlight the teams continued efforts to further the integration of this great new functionality on 3DVIA.com.

If you’ve ever tried to model an avatar for a 3D simulation, game, virtual world, animation or any 3D application in general, you know this can be a very tedious task that can expend much of your resources, expense, and time. Now, with this new functionality, you can create fully customizable avatars for use in 3DVIA Scenes and 3DVIA Studio in a matter of minutes.

Here’s some simple steps to get you started. What would you like to do?

Use a ready-to-go premade avatar

1. From the “You” tab, select “My 3DVIA Avatar“.
2. Click “My Avatars” and then “Create Avatar”.
3. Select a premade or a blank male or female avatar.
4. Customize your face, skin, eyes, hair, body, and clothing.
5. Give your avatar a name and Click “Finish”.

Create a clone avatar of yourself, one photo is all you need

1. Follow steps 1 and 2 above.
2. Click “My Face Clones & Parts”.
3. Click “New Clone”.
4. Give your avatar a name and upload a photo of yourself. Be sure to follow the instructions on the screen for photo requirements.
5. Place your guide points on your face and click “Clone”.
6. Customize your face, skin, eyes, hair, body, and clothing.
7. Give your avatar a name and Click “Finish”.

Within a few minutes, your avatar will process server-side and then you will be able to walk around in any 3DVIA Scene.

  1. Talk about delivering creative freedom to the masses! With 3DVIA Scenes and custom avatars from Evolver anyone can create a 3D space all their own. Very cool combination!

  2. Congrats, guys!

  3. How do I get an avatar into studio?

    • You have to go make your avatar (instructions above) wait until it’s done processing then go to the “My avatars” tab and click on your avatar. Then press “Next”.

  4. Evolver can make the avatars available in multiple formats, and multiple mesh weight and texture options. The dae’s have been tested and optimized for use in Studio.

  5. Where is the option to download the DAE file?

  6. Hi Kabab, From the Evolver site, you can “Transport” directly to 3DVIA. This option creates a DAE file that is optimized for 3DVIA Studio.

  7. So there is no way to do it via the integration with 3dvia website yet?

  8. and I like to use Video Avatar (geovid.com)
