In this video I turn Jewels the Cat into…da-da-da-da…Rocket Cat.  You will have to see how easy this was to do using the 3DVIA for Adobe Photoshop Plugin.

Jon talks here about how 3DVIA (Composer, Mobile, and 3DVIA.com) are great tools for engineers, particularly for SolidWorks designers.

I needed some expert advice on how to clean up my 3D models, to make them smaller, cleaner, and more efficient.

With advanced computing power, and internet speeds, we still need our 3D models is their top shape when used on the web and real-time environments (i.e. gaming).  Dr. Polycount goes over five common problems with my models, and the cures.

We have developed our first iPhone app for 3DVIA, which allows you to view and inspect any public 3D model from the 3DVIA.com library.  However, the best part is the collage function, which allows you to take a photo with your iPhone, then download any 3D model from 3DVIA.com, and add it into the picture, in true perspective. You can add 3D models of people into a picture of real people, you can add 3D models of furniture into rooms, you can add cars into your driveway. All this in the palm of you hand, wherever you are.  The possibilities are endless.

Basically, Don has been involved in all parts of the design process.  

    However, there has always been one constant in all of Don’s experiences, one common language:  “3D”.  Check out this video to get to know Don:

     

    Don is always monitoring the site, so when you receive a comment from Don, you are receiving a comment from an expert in 3D!

    This is very simple to do, and a great way to view any office space or room.  We used this model to determine furniture placement and wall colors at our new office.

    Here at 3DVIA, we receive many questions about 3D formats and standards, which we want to answer, so we started a new series of Cliff’s Clips titled:  “3D Format Spotlight”.  In this first episode we wanted to clarify the two most common exchange formats:  STEP and IGES.  We wanted to better explain these formats in layman’s terms for all of our users, and to explain why these formats are important.

    For the next “3D Format Spotlight” we want to know what other formats you would like to know about, or a comparison of formats.  There are so many 3D formats out there, and we think some clarification could help.  Tell us which format(s) you would like to know more about, and why.
