You’re right and wrong, all the 3DXML files are effectively zip files but if you download multiple from the site, only the ones coming from CATIA V5 contain their geometry in binary. Maybe Dassault Systemes may clarify this.
I will appreciate more conversion capabilities in particular to convert from 3DXML to 3ds</description>
