  1. wow guys !!! you are just brilliant :D your .3dxml is just a zip with proprietary xml document inside.

not only your 3dxml is not even collada. but it encodes binary data in base64 (thus waste space) …
    welcome to 1994 …

the result is, a fugly coffee maker mesh for only 6.28mo !

  2. Gregory, you’re right on the format ; but do you have any point of comparison to give us?

How .3dxml ranks w/regard to other formats – for a sample fugly coffee maker ?

  3. Gregory, Gandalf ,

You’re right and wrong, all the 3DXML files are effectively zip files but if you download multiple from the site, only the ones coming from CATIA V5 contain their geometry in binary. Maybe Dassault Systemes may clarify this.
I will appreciate more conversion capabilities in particular to convert from 3DXML to 3ds

  4. There is no Linux client !!

Is this planned ?! I’m sure you would gain lots of people sharing, it’s in the linux spirit to share.

I spent 3 hours to send a comment ’cause fields label are not well placed.

  5. Nice job Mr theet, i hope a day to meet you !
    regards
