4. WINNERS

4a. Each registered member of the 3DVIA community will be allowed one vote per contest.
3DVIA community voting will start on Monday, June 15th, 2009, and will continue through Sunday, June 21st, 2009.

4b. A jury made up of three 3DVIA representatives will judge each model from 1-10 (10 being the best score) based on the models artistic merit, technical merit and accuracy.

Artistic Design - Eye catching design, the coolness of the model.
Technical Accuracy – Mechanical or realistic accuracy and detail
Modeling Efficiency – Polygonal construction, modeling skill.

4c. The average value of the 3DVIA representatives’ score will be combined with the percentage of the 3DVIA community’s votes multiplied by 10 (i.e.; if a model receives 45% of the community votes, it would get a score of 4.5 added to the 3DVIA representatives’ average score).
If more than one model receives the same score, each model with the same score will be designated as a Winner and will receive the same prize.

4d. The winner will be announced on the 3DVIA.com web site on Monday, June 22nd, 2009.

4e. Decisions of the 3DVIA representatives are final.

    my lucky number
too bad i can’t participate,i have soem great ideas(but the models will stll be made :) )

  4. Oh I think everyone should participate, from 3 years old to 92, You can still win, and be the champion, and have your name all over the website and an email telling almost 60,000 of your fellow modelers that you are the champion!

Its just that those legal types tell us not to give an iPod to our younger crowd :)

  5. Hi!
    I have a question,
In what kind of format have to be the archive? for example, if I upload a .max or .iges or .stl or something like this, will it work?
    thanks a lot!

  6. Hey Gaspo, we welcome all kinds of formats :)
For DCC applications like 3D Max and Maya, I recomend Feeling Software’s Collada Dae exporter for Max. You can find their website here.

I also wrote a blog recently that you may find useful, all about exporting from Max and Maya and into 3DVIA.com. You can read that here.

I’m far less familiar with Iges, Step and stl formats, but we do have a 3DVIA TV video about them. You can watch that here.

Let me know if I can assist in any way :)

    -Juan
