C Davies has created quite a few truly excellent aircraft models and uploaded them to 3D Content Central. This SAAB37 Viggen ( http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/Download-Model.aspx?catalogid=171&id=2266 ) is a good example. As you look at it in 3D here at 3DVIA.com you should have this YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49rp81KEYsI running as well! Way cool! Especially at the end when you see an aircraft mechanic cranking the tail rudder into a horizontal position so that it will fit into the hanger.

I do know that it takes a LOT of time and patience and good reference materials. That’s what makes models like this so great – you can use them for 3D reference as you model and see how someone else has solved some of the challenges. :)
