I was hoping it was a “Magic 8 Ball). I went looking for the answer to my question.

It is magic! When you don’t get an answer, it has the same accuracy as the real thing, while still being virtual.

The “8” is actually transparent.

I just went back and checked the original model from Dan Smarch (downloaded from 3D Content Central) and found that it is actually a hollow ball! The ’8’s themselves are cut clean through the ball, so it wouldn’t hold the fluid for a Magic 8 Ball or survive an impant from another pool ball. hmmmmm…pretty, but kinda’ useless…
