This model represent a Hurdy Gurdy (also called wheel fiddle), it’s a medieval celtic instrument where strings are rubbed by a wheel (turned with a crank). Melodies are played using a keyboard (on the side of the instrument).
In this scene you can see two views of the same hurdy gurdy: the classic (when the musician play) and the opened one (to see the details of interior mechanisms)
