This is the 3rd building I did and it belongs to the previous.
How it all fit together see in my webalbum http://picasaweb.google.com/alfredeix/UndergroundLogisticCenter?feat=directlink

Since a few weeks I work on a real big model.
I call it “underground logistic center”. What you see here, is the Delivery hangar. Here the trucks enter the complex and unload their cargo.
the logistic center will be underground, becasue it is a weapon logistic center and I think it might be better to store all the weapons deep in the earth instead of on the surface. I can imagine several reasons for that.

Anyway, this is how it works:
Trucks enter on the left side of this building (look inside the building, so that you can see truck driving direction) the whole unloading is built for my HEMMT PLS trucks. Inside the building I put some Super-Low-Poly versions of them, to show the process.
there are 4 gates for the trucks. Once insde the truck drives ober the folding gate in the floor and stops in unloading position. the gate in the floor opens and cargo lift for that gate appears (lift is not included yet)
the lift fits 20ft logistic equipment. The truck unloads cargo including the logistic equipmentonto the lift and that one goes down to logistic center itself. the logistc center is also not included yet (stay tuned)
If available, empty logistic equipments (Flatracks, etc.) will be brought up with the lift, so that the empty truck can take it away.
the Truck leaves on the right side of the building.
In this webalbum, there are some pictures from the whole scene, so it gives you a slight idea, of what is still to come and how the whole thing looks like.

The idea for this came, when I worked on the aircraft weapons, that I uploaded to 3DVia a few weeks ago. For those weapons, the whole logistic center will be built. so finally this model would fit in an Military Airfield scene (we will see….). That was also the reason to rework all Trucks and Trailers. While starting the houses I created a lot of standard house elements and items, which can be used for buildings in general.

The whole model, once finished, is not made after a real existing building (well you’ll never know, what our military really has). It is an idea that I had, how to use most of my models into one single scene. And it becomes bigger and bigger :)

too fast Sady. Its not really a garage, well the basics of that building, you might be able to use as a garage for trucks.
See the description, this one is something different :)

Thanks Don. The biggest work was to find a system for all standard elements (i might upload all of them later). As I said, the idea is cookingin my head since weeks… :)

@sady: it’s great that you share your well kept secrets with us, but I do not think that my model is the right place for that. Why don’t you upload your first model and then place all information and sketches and stuff there?

@sady – I meant that alfredix has been busy, but you must have been writing your comment at the same time and posted it before mine – I know that you’re always busy too :D

@alfredix – The best ideas often require some additional time in the cooker :D

Don’t worry Sady, my pal, I keep uploading my models, so that you have a chance to say afterwards you had the same idea :).
The truth is, i am like Smike’s Mandoon. I am just one step ahead: I suck your brain via Internet and then I make the model before you even finished thinking about it.
