This is a 1:35 Scale model of a A-10A Thunderbolt II (nickname: Warthog).
If you want to read more about the aircraft see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A-10_Thunderbolt_II
You can see the progress of the design in my web albums: http://picasaweb.google.com/alfredeix/A10?feat=directlink
This version is the standing version. Enjoy :)

the newest thunderbolt is A10C,and has a computer specially for the avenger cannon, and dozens of secondary weapons.this hog is a bit older, but, despite i never liked too much the jets, this is one of my favourites

TOTALLY COOL aircraft when looking at Alfredix model and not the real one since his amazing details is so clear..
where do you get so good research matriel to get the details so close.
Hi Smike, thanks for your kind words. Usually I buy 1:35 plastic model kits. In this scale the details are good enough to really copy them into 3D model.
Do you use blueprints to make your aircrafts? I use blueprints but that is because SketchUp has a scale tool with nodes that can deform.
no I use 1:35 plastic kits and then I measure the parts. Some are aonly available as 1:48 plastic kit, so they have to be scaled to 1:35 (aprox). Planes and helicopters are usually available in1:32, whereas tanks and trucks are available in 1:35. So the 3D models are somewhere inbetween :)
you said, you use blueprints. where do get those from?

Great site for blueprints.
Thank you Mr. Planet. I think that is a great source, when it comes to a few details that might not be available on the plastic models :)
what a beautiful model.
cant belive how u make these things?!
