This is a 1:35 Scale model of a Leopard 1 based German Recovery Tank.
The tank was introduced with the Leopard 1 family sometimes in the 70s.
When the Leopard 1A5 came out the original Recovery tank was not powerful enough, so they
introduced this A2 version with a stronger crane and the Ydraulic Cylinder on the back for additional support.
The model shows the A2 version in transport position.
I added some tools and equipment on the outside. In realiy they have a lot of more equipment on board to do their job.
This recovery tank is assigned to Tank Companies and its main purpose is the recovery of Leo 1 (and smaller tanks)
With the introduction of the Leopard 2 they also had to bring out a new recovery tank (again more powerful to support the Leo2 requirements)
Stay tuned…
