This is a 1:35 scale model of a MAN 5to milGl Truck.
This truck is the “workhorse” fo the German Bundeswehr. It is in Service since the early 1970s
There are 4 Basic Trucks, 5to, 7to, 10to and 15to Multi.
For the upload to 3DVia, I had to remove the profile of the tires. Uusally the Truck has offroad profiled tires not slicks ;)
If you want to see more details and the other members of that family, visit my webalbum: http://picasaweb.google.com/alfredeix/MANMilGl?feat=directlink

Fantastic detail Alfred! It’s really spectacular! Especially having all the doors and hatches open with the appropriate equipment too.
Thanks for putting it in the Trucks group. :)
I am glad you like it Don. Beside the HEMMT this MAN truck is my alltime favorite :)
I like both because on trucks (compared to tanks) so many more details are on the outside. :)
Anyone who views this model should really follow Alfred’s link to the web album to see all the amazing sub-assemblies and other details
Awesome job Alfred!
thank you Shannon :)
Yep, awesome!
Very nice job.

Its really amazing detailing. Your web album helps a lot to understand this :)

excellent, excellent, excellent, it forms an absolute reference guide on “how we should properly model a machine of any kind”, would love to see a full detail/high polygon version of this alfredix!!!!!! 5stars+
thanks a lot flatform. I apreaciate your coment a lot.
the only detail that is missing, is basically the profile of the tires. Anything else is there.
of course detail is there, but with a nice cosmetic filleting and higher mesh settings it would reveal its jewel properties. now annoying (because modelling is perfect) polygons show in the place of circles. OF course the model would be 150MB…at least. The model mechanical detail is out-standing, i wonder how much blueprints you have of all things you model and they must be difficult to find for military vehicles, are they accurate to the original measurements too?? even if it’s not, it’s still remarkable, great job, keep on!
HI flatform, thanks for your kind words.
A few things to your remarks:
I have no influence on the number of polygons. It is 3DVia how handles the smoothness (or in my case) roughness of the polygons. No idea why, but when uploading STEPS that comes out. Here on my PC all circles are real circles and no hexagons…
I rarely use blueprints. Even though there are some good sources out there.
When I do a model, I use 1:35 plastic scale models as source. Which means: I buy the plastic kit and then measuere the parts. If I feel that details are missing, I go to the web and search for additional information to complete the model.
Or I simply make it up according to what I think would make sense or (which is more often the case) just looks good :)
Not just, it looks REALLY good ;)
again, thanks for replying and sharing your beautiful models.
