Nicely done! If you need to use it elsewhere I would suggest that you put a flat spot on each tire (the weight of a real truck or car would cause this naturally).

You can then hold down the middle mouse button and select one of the flat spots with the “Repositioning” tool (at about 19:00hrs on the “clock” of tools). That will reposition your truck so that it sits flat on the ground.

Then be sure to hold down the middle mouse button and click on the “Save the current settings” tool (at about 20:00hrs) so that all other users will see it flat on the ground too.

Be sure to view Cliff’s video about embedding models into websites ( http://www.3dvia.com/blog/add-3d-to-your-website-or-blog/ ) in case you need any tips.

You can also view this blog post: http://www.3dvia.com/blog/how-to-import-solidworks-models-into-3dvia/ to find out how to have your SolidWorks models upload to 3DVIA in the correct orientation.

Good luck and let us know if you have any problems!

PS As “owner” of the Trucks group ( http://www.3dvia.com/groups/group_home.php?groupId=D563F9CBDDEFC1D3 ), it would be great if you joined the group and added this model!

Hi dswavely, Ok, flat spot on each tire is a good idea. I will do it with solidworks, I can’t do that with 3D via Shape, because the solidWorks part is up to 2mb size (3.9mb)

Ok, il will change the orientation of the model in SolidWorks. no problem !

For information, This a 3D model from 3Dcontentcentral.com. I just use it for free tutorials (french) about 3D models on the web and how to embed it in a website or blog. Other tutorial about how to integrate 3D models in technical documentation (and so on) is in the pipe… thx for your comment and the interesting links!

Hi YvesB,

I think I downloaded the same model from 3D Content Central :D

Yes, I was suggesting that you add the flat spots using SolidWorks, sorry I wasn’t more specific.

Don’t forget that you can export SolidWorks models in STEP or IGES format and maybe end up with smaller files.

You can also zip the SolidWorks file if you’re really close to the 2MB max. Sometimes even a tiny size change will allow it to be processed.

Hope this all works out for you!
