Spider-Man is a fictional Marvel Comics superhero. The character first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 (August 1962), and was created by scripter-editor Stan Lee and artist-plotter Steve Ditko. Lee and Ditko conceived of the character as an orphan being raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben as an ordinary teenager, having to deal with the normal struggles of youth in addition to those of a costumed crime fighter. Spider-Man’s creators gave him the ability to cling to walls, shoot spider-webs using an invention he had created, and react to danger quickly with his “spider-sense,” enabling him to combat his many foes, including Doctor Octopus, the Sandman, the Lizard, the Green Goblin, and Venom.

Sady I got the information from wikepedia whose reference given above. Check that in Powers and equipment section it is written as “A bite from a radioactive spider on a school field trip causes a variety of changes in the body of Peter Parker and giving him superpowers” :)

5 Stars – very nicely done! Simple, but very effective!

The official Spiderman site can be found here: http://spiderman.sonypictures.com/

Sady is referring to the first movie, were they showed the science lab experimenting with 16 genetically enhanced spiders, one of wich was missing and bit Peter Parker. You are however incorrect, they were not mutants, they were artificially enhanced. A mutant is born with is powers, usually activated around puberty. Spiderman was not born with his abilities, they were granted by genetically modified spider.

@jdelrio – thanks for adding more information about spidey. Yes there are two different stories regarding birth of spiderman. Comic says it because of radioactive spider & movie version says genetically enhanced spiders. I still believe we should accept the first one as that was its creator’s idea (original idea).

@sandman – Thanks. I am quite inspired by your guitar models & mostly I wonder where do you get the ideas as I donot find them with google search. Someday I will surely try to make a guitar model. :)

@don – I forgot to add that website link but thanks to your watchful eyes its now added. Thanks :)

you should remember that xavier invited spiderman to join the xmen, but he refused just because he’s not a natural mutant

and yes,in the movie he shot web touching the hand,in the comics by uing a hand-held device and some web cartriges.this allowed him to change the web between ordinary and sticky, explosive, incendiar(ok,those were in the game..) and some type that disolved after a while

and juan,i said the spider was mutant, not spiderman
it was mutated between more species

in the comics the spider was enchaced with the good-to-everything machine, invented by that doctor wich transformed into lizard…what was his name?
